Precious Metals with Winnie & Walter

Hi there!   I'm super late getting this post up with today being Halloween and all, but I wanted to share a card I created based on Taheerah's Gossip Column featuring Precious Metals over on the Winnie & Walter blog.   Our challenge was to use precious metals in a creative way, and I chose to break out my gilding flakes to create a fun multi-metal sentiment!

winnie & walter | handmade card | cardmaking | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | gilding flakes | precious metals | papercraft

I stamped the Mini Scenery - Multifaceted stamp and heat embossed with clear powder.   I colored a few segments in using teal, raspberry, white and gold.   I stamped the sentiment, from The Big, The Bold & You, with Versamark and added sticky embossing powder.  I heat set the powder and pressed my gilding flakes into the powder.   Once it cooled, I brushed away the excess, and was left with the fun variegated sentiment!   I wanted the focal piece to be the star of the show, so I mounted it to some silver glitter paper and added it to a black card base.

Hope you've enjoyed my take on this challenge!    Have a wonderful evening!

Happy Halloween!

Hi friends!   I'm sharing a fun card featuring loads of Lawn Fawn goodness over on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink. blog today!  Head over and check out how I made it!!

Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release - Festive Forest & Ornamental Newton

Are you enjoying the NND holiday release so far?   We've got two more amazing stamp and die sets to show you today!   First up, Festive Forest!

Festive forest card by Kimberly Rendino | Newton's Nook Designs | handmade card | holiday | Christmas | tree | star | Oh Christmas Tree | papercraft | cardmaking | Christmas card | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

As soon as I saw this set, I knew I wanted to try to put the trees together in a star shape!   I stamped the different trees in a variety of green inks (using the lightest color first so I didn't contaminate my ink pads), then die cut them with the coordinating Festive Forest die.   I loved how it looked offset just a bit, so I adhered the trees and trimmed the excess off.

Festive forest card by Kimberly Rendino | Newton's Nook Designs | handmade card | holiday | Christmas | tree | star | Oh Christmas Tree | papercraft | cardmaking | Christmas card | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

The sentiment was heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock and adhered across my tree star with foam tape.   I placed just a few gold star sequins for a touch of shine!

Next is a card using Ornamental Newton & the coordinating dies.....but I didn't use Newton!   What?!?!?   I know, but when I saw that tiny Santa hat, I just HAD to hang it from the fun sentiment!

Ornamental Newton card by Kimberly Rendino | Newton's Nook Designs | cardmaking | papercraft | clear stamps | sequins | handmade card | Christmas card | santa | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

I made the Santa hat more like an enamel embellishment by coating it with Wink of Stella to make it sparkle, and then a double coating of Glossy Accents for loads of shine.  To finish the card off, I made some hand drawn lines around the sentiment and added a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins.   This would be a super card to make in large quantities!

Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release - Holiday Tweets

Hello!   Today we are sharing projects using the super-duper adorable new stamp set, Holiday Tweets!

Holiday Tweets card by Kimberly Rendino | Newton's Nook Designs | cardmaking | papercraft | clear stamps | Christmas card | birds | colored pencils | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

I stamped the image on a kraft cardbase, and did my coloring with pencils.  I always love how colored pencils look on kraft!   I added a few touches of gold as well.

The card was gorgeous with just the colored image, so all it needed was a strip of embossed glitter paper along the side to balance everything out!

Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release - Beautiful Baubles & Pines & Holly Dies

Welcome back for day two of Newton's Nook Designs' holiday release!   Today we are sharing a gorgeous new stamp set, Beautiful Baubles, done in Jen's awesome quilled style, and a stand-alone die set that has endless possibilities!

pines & holly card by Kimberly Rendino | Beautiful Baubles | Newton's Nook Designs | embossing | holiday | Christmas | noel | handmade card | ornament | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

I gave special attention to the Pines & Holly dies for my card today - I die cut the ornament from gold foil paper and used an embossing folder for that beautiful texture.   It looks so rich and gorgeous!   I used a frame from Pretty Pink Posh and tucked some of the pine boughs up at the top to create my "tree".   I drew an ornament hook and adhered the ornament on foam adhesive.   The pretty little bow die cut is the perfect finishing touch to my nearly completely die-cut card!   The sentiment comes from the Beautiful Baubles set - you'll definitely be seeing me use that set more in the near future!

Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release - Sun Soaked Christmas!

Hello there!    Today begins Newton's Nook Designs' holiday release, and we are starting with a super fun tropical themed Christmas set!

Sun Soaked Christmas card by Kimberly Rendino | tropical | handmade card | holiday | ink blending | distress ink | palm trees | kimpletekreativity,blogspot.com | newton's nook designs

I created a background using Distress Inks, and stamped the little palm tree scene right on top - no masking involved.   I chose to Copic color my images a little more muted than I'd normally choose to do, to go with the soft background, and I love the effect!    I added the white with my Dylusions white paint pen, heat embossed the sentiment, and added the panel offset  onto a card base I embossed with an embossing folder.

CAS-ual Fridays New Release - Powerful Words

Hello again, crafty friends!   Michele has done it again!   Check out the gorgeousness that is the new set "Powerful Words".   These sentiments just rock, and I wanted to give this one the spotlight!

rainbow shaker card by Kimberly Rendino | CAS-ual Fridays Stamps | clear stamps | stamping | cardmaking | handmade card | colorful | sequins | miracles | shaker card

I used a fun Foam Front Card Kit by Queen & Company to create this card - just add sequins (or shaker material of your choice).   I did a rainbow of colors from Pretty Pink Posh for this particular card, but I can just picture doing these in holiday colors, an ombre of one particular shade....the options are endless!

The width of the lines was just right to add the smaller words of the sentiment directly to the card front.   For the large 'Miracles', I stamped in Versamark ink onto acetate, and heat embossed with black glitter embossing powder.   I fussy cut around the word, and adhered it to the card front.   rainbow shaker card by Kimberly Rendino | CAS-ual Fridays Stamps | clear stamps | stamping | cardmaking | handmade card | colorful | sequins | miracles | shaker card
'Powerful Words', and the entire October release, is available in the CAS-ual Fridays store right NOW!   Remember, the code KIMBERLY16 will save you 15% off your entire purchase!   Happy shopping!

My card uses the super-cute Frozen Friends stamp set, with the sentiment from Festive Flamingos.   This is a relatively easy to make/flat for mailing card - the best kind to mass produce!  The snowman was colored with Copics and cut out with my Scan-n-Cut.   I added some Stickles to his hat for sparkle!   The sentiment was stamped and white heat embossed onto a banner shape, with white gel pen stitches.  Easy-peasy!

W&W WCMD - Color Challenge

I'm back with another card for Winnie & Walter's WCMD challenge!   This time I played along with Heather P.'s color combo of green, blue and teal.

handmade card by Kimberly Rendino | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | winnie & walter | stencil | leaf | papercraft | cardmaking | clear stamps | stamping

I created the background by inking up a piece of cardstock with Distress Inks in an light ombre of Broken China, Evergreen Bough & Shabby Shutters.   Next I sponged a heavier coat of the same colors through the Leaf Effect stencil.   Next, I smooshed my Versamark ink pad through the Big Bang Circles stencil and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.   I stamped the word 'you', from The Big, the Bold & You onto a piece of acetate and heat embossed in white.   I fussy cut around the sentiment and adhered it to a strip of grey cardstock and added the rest of the sentiment, also heat embossed in white.  The strip was adhered across the card with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my final card for Winnie & Walter's WCMD challenges!

World Card Making Day with Winnie & Walter - Pinspiration Challenge

Hello there, I'm back with another card for W&W's World Card Making Day challenge - this one was inspired by Heather's Pinterest photo

And here is what I came up with!

handmade card | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | Kimberly Rendino | Winnie & Walter | stamping | clear stamps | watercolor | sequins

I stamped a floral sprig from In Bloom - Addie's Garden in the lower right hand corner of a piece of watercolor cardstock.   I added some hand drawn detail with a black pen.   I loosely colored the flowers with my Zig watercolor markers.   The sentiment is from Wishing You.   As a finishing touch, I sprayed the entire panel with some gold glitter spray by Therm-o-Web and added a few gold sequins by Pretty Pink Posh!

Hope you've enjoyed my card!   I'll be back later with my third and (probably) final entry for the Winnie & Walter World Cardmaking Day Challenges!

WCMD with Winnie & Walter - Rainbow Colour Challenge

Hello!   I have a card to share using supplies from Winnie & Walter - I adore their stamps and dies!   I'm entering this card into the Rainbow Colour Challenge with Gayatri.

rainbow heart | handmade card | Kimberly Rendino | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | winnie & walter | clear stamps | minc machine | foiling | cardmaking | papercraft

I die cut the solid heart from the True Multifaceted Heart dies from some toner paper and ran it through my Minc with rainbow coloured foil.   It is gorgeous, I tell you!! Rainbow colours just make me happy!   I die cut the heart frame from solid black cardstock and adhered it over the foiled heart, leaving some pieces inside for added interest.   The sentiment comes from the Happiest of Holidays with Evelin T stamp set.

Simple, and colorful!   Hope you're having a wonderful weekend, crafty friends!

CHALLENGES

Hey There, Friend!

Hi crafty friends!   Thanks for stopping by!   Today I've got a CAS card that yields a lot of impact.  I used the awesome Girlfriend stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays along with Distress Inks to get the look!
girlfriend card | handmade card | Kimberly Rendino | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | CAS-ual Fridays Stamps | distress ink | ink blending | glitter

I began by blending Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks onto the top of my focal panel.   I used sticky notes to mask off the area I was working with.   When I had a nice blend, I went in and stamped several images from the Girlfriend stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink.   I added some detail with a white gel pen.

girlfriend card | handmade card | Kimberly Rendino | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | CAS-ual Fridays Stamps | distress ink | ink blending | glitter

I added a strip of Scor Tape along the edge of my inked panel and burnished some irridescent  prisma glitter onto it.   The sentiment, also from Girlfriend, was stamped right below the glittered tape.

I hope you've enjoyed my card today!   If you'd like to shop over at the CAS-ual Fridays store, you can save 15% by using the coupon code KIMBERLY16.   While you're there, be sure to check out the 'Sale' tab for some great deals on some of CFS' earliest sets.   We're celebrating CFS' 4th birthday all month long!  Woo-hoo!
