I used the new dies to create inlaid waves for my background!   I also used the die to cut out my Copic colored shark, and added Glossy Accents to the water splashes and his sharp teeth.   I put him on an Action Wobble so he wiggles around - so fun!

Being Happy Rules!

Hello, hello!   I know it's Monday, so we all need something to make us smile, right?!   Well, I aim to please!    Rainbow smiles for you this Monday morning!
handmade card | rainbow | rainbow hearts | hearts | smiles | papercraft | cardmaking | clear stamps | CAS-ual Fridays Stamps | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | be happy

I created my background by stamping the Smile sentiment from Sassy Smiles in a rainbow of Lawn Fawn ink colors.   I used the same inks direct to paper and die cut five hearts using the Heart Board Fri-Die.   I built the heart up by using layers of foam adhesive between the colors.   I stamped the Being Happy Rules sentiment (I just love that sentiment, don't you?!?!) from Calm & Loving on black and heat embossed with white.   I cut apart the sentiment and added them to the heart!

CAS-ual Fridays/Imagine Crafts Blog Hop!

Hi friends!!   Today the Girl Fridays from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps are teaming up with Imagine Crafts and their designers to bring you a super fun collab blog hop!   I was excited to have the chance to work with some awesome products from Imagine Crafts - wait till you see what I've created!

I opted to try a new-to-me product from Imagine Crafts called Vertigo - these are really awesome sheets of a plastic-like material that reflects and refracts light.   You can die cut them, ink them (use pigment ink or Staz-On), stamp on them.....lots of possibilities!    I used the Rattlesnake Vertigo 6x6 sheets and die cut a tag using the CFS Tag Buddies dies.   I inked the back side of the tag with Memento Luxe inks in Dandelion and Lilac Posies ink, overlapping to create a third, orange color.   It looks so awesome in real life!    The picture can't quite capture how amazing it looks when you tilt it back and forth!   I die cut another tag from white cardstock to use as a backer because I didn't want my striped background to show through.

cas-ual fridays stamps | imagine crafts | vertigo sheets | flower | mon ami | prismacolor pencils | heat embossing | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

Once I had the tag finished up, I set to work on the rest of the card.   I used the lotus flower image from the CFS set, Mon Ami, and heat embossed it on black cardstock, colored it in with colored pencils and then die cut it with the matching Mon Ami Fleur Fri-Die.   I used some Nuvo Drops for a bit of dimension!   I stamped the sentiment, also from Mon Ami,  and heat embossed it in white.   I trimmed the sentiment strip, added some stitched lines with a white gel pen and notched the ends.  I added the sentiment strip and some ribbon to the tag and adhered it to the striped panel.   I adhered the flower to the corner of the tag with some foam adhesive - and that finished off my card!

I hope you're having a fantastic time hopping along with us.   Be sure to comment at all the stops on the hop for your chance to win one of two great prizes from CAS-ual Fridays and Imagine Crafts!   Your next stop on the hop is Mark Melnick's blog!!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop & Giveaway!

Hi there!    I'm super excited to share my card for the Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop, partially because I actually have it done BEFORE the start of the hop and partially because these cute images from Lil' Inker Designs make me so HAPPY!!!!

coffee lovers bloghop | lil inker designs | coffee | donut | handmade card | cardmaking | papercraft | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

I stamped the images on the bottom of the chevron paper (also from Lil' Inker) and then stamped again, colored and fussy cut the images and layered them over the images on the chevron paper.   That way I didn't have to worry about cutting their teeny tiny, adorable little legs and arms off, lol!!   I gave the donut a coating of Wink of Stella glitter pen and Glossy Accents for shimmer and shine.

I thought it was only appropriate to do a little giveaway of a Tim Horton's gift card since this IS the Coffee Lovers Bloghop, after all!   It's just a $5 gift card, but I hope the winner enjoys a delicious coffee on me! :)   To enter, just leave a comment and if you'd subscribe to my blog and/or Instagram, I'd appreciate it (buttons are on the sidebar)!   Good luck, and happy hopping, friends!!

June Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop!

It's that time of the month, ladies!    I'm here with a reminder to check yourself....it could just save your life!   I'm sharing an encouraging card - perfect for a friend or loved one who has been dealt a tough hand.  I love this sentiment!!

cancer awareness | encouraging card | encouragement | handmade card | cardmaking | papercraft | calling all sistahs | cas-ual fridays stamps | clear stamps | awareness ribbon | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

To create my card, I used the Ruffled Ribbon Fri-die to do some  partial die cutting.   I cut just the top portion of the ribbon and then scored my piece of cardstock and folded so that the ribbon stands straight up and is part of my card base (the card is still 4.25 x 5.5" from the top of the ribbon to the bottom of the card).   Here's a side view picture to show you what I mean!
cancer awareness | encouraging card | encouragement | handmade card | cardmaking | papercraft | calling all sistahs | cas-ual fridays stamps | clear stamps | awareness ribbon | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com
I  used some pale shades of Copic markers to color a diagonal rainbow on some cardstock and then stamped and heat embossed the ribbon from the Hope Ribbon die over the top with white EP.    I die cut the ribbon, again with the Ruffled Ribbon Fri-die and adhered it to the card just at the top, leaving the ribbon ends free of adhesive for some cool dimension.

The sentiment, from Calling All Sistahs, was heat embossed with silver embossing powder, and a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh finished off the card.

Hope you've enjoyed my card today, and that the monthly hop has served to remind you to take a few minutes and do a self-breast exam!   Be sure to hop along and leave comments - I hear there will be prizes to be won!  :)

And if you'd like to do some shopping, please feel free to use my coupon code, KIMBERLY16, over at the CAS-ual Fridays store - you'll save yourself 15%....woo-hoo!!!     Be sure to head over to Susan's blog next to see what she's created!!

Newton's Nook Designs June Release - Newton's Support

We've reached day four of the June NND release and today we have a special one - 'Newton's Support'.  The sentiments in this set are fabulous for a friend or family member going through a tough time.    And sweet little Newton with his ribbon is sure to spread some cheer!

cancer support | support ribbons | newton's nook designs | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | nuvo drops | perfect pearls

I stamped a few rows of the support ribbon with Versamark ink and then covered them with a dusting of a pinky purple shade of Perfect Pearls.   I die cut a heart from the ribbon background.   I die cut the next largest heart from black and found that I had the perfect color Nuvo drops to match the Perfect Pearls, so I added some of the drops around the edge of the black heart.

cancer support | support ribbons | newton's nook designs | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | nuvo drops | perfect pearls

I embossed the card base with a heart embossing folder from WRMK and stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in the upper left corner.   I added a strip of patterned paper along the bottom of the card base, and that completed the card!

Newton's Nook Designs June Release - Vegetable Garden

Today we have another fun addition to this month's NND garden themed stamp/die release  - 'Vegetable Garden'!

vegetable garden | cardmaking | papercraft | newton's nook designs | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

I masked some of the vegetables and stamped them in a light colored ink and colored them in with Copics.  I love how simple this card is - I didn't want to add much to it, so I just mounted my panel to a dark green die cut frame and then to a patterned piece of paper.   Simple & sweet!

Newton's Nook Designs June Release - Flower Garden

I'm so, so excited about today's NND stamp set reveal!   Today the DT is showing off 'Flower Garden', a companion set to 'Garden Starter' (revealed yesterday).    I love all of the flowers Jen included in this stamp set, but the pansies are my FAVORITE!!!!   Pansies have always been my favorite flower, so I was thrilled to see a stamp set that included them....and they're such fun to color too!

My card is just some simple masking and Copic coloring.    The sentiment (again with that absolutely amazing font!!) was heat embossed.   The addition of just a tiny strip of polka dot paper to the top and bottom of my focal panel added a bit more interest.

Newton's Nook Designs June Release - Garden Starter

Hi guys!   You are going to fall in love with the new stamp sets this month from Newton's Nook!   To start things off, we have the Garden Starter stamp set and Garden Window Die set.

This die set is awesome!   I love how it leaves the stitched edge after you cut out the seed packet.   I decided to make a shaker card, so I just trimmed that remaining stitched edge into a rectangle to use as my shaker frame.    I kept the sequins, from Pretty Pink Posh, clear so that they wouldn't obscure the pretty zinnias too much :)

The font used in this set is absolutely amazing!   I want to use these sentiments on EVERYTHING!

Be sure to come back tomorrow to see the next reveal.....here's a hint - if you like Garden Starter, you'll love the next set!

Think Happy Thoughts

Hi everyone!   I've got a soft & sweet card for you today using the new stamp set,  Happy Little Thoughts, along with the coordinating dies from Newton's Nook Designs!

think happy thoughts | newton's nook designs | twig wreath | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | handmade card | papercraft | cardmaking

I began by stamping my background with the flower cluster and a leaf from the stamp set Fanciful Florals.  This flower cluster is very similar to the small flower cluster I used on the wreath (from Happy Little Thoughts).   I was so happy to make this discovery!! :)  I stamped with Versamark ink for a tone on tone look - I love how soft and subtle it is.  I die cut my stamped background with a die from Gina Marie Designs.

think happy thoughts | newton's nook designs | twig wreath | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | handmade card | papercraft | cardmaking

I stamped the wreath with brown ink and die cut it - but I wasn't a fan of how the white border looked, so I colored the entire die cut in with a light brown Copic marker - much better!   I stamped, colored and die cut several of the flower clusters as well and adhered them to the wreath.  Some tiny pearls made the perfect flower centers.   Before I adhered the wreath to the panel, I centered the sentiment and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.

Hope you've enjoyed my card today!  Next week is release week at Newton's Nook Designs - I hope you'll join us for the festivities!   See you again soon....
