CAS-ual Fridays Release Day 5

So here we are, the last day of CAS-ual Fridays release week!    (Be sure to stop by the CAS-ual Fridays blog for a TON of inspiration from the whole DT!) Today we are sharing out final stamp set, Tin Roof, an awesome background building stamp!

tin roof | transfer foil | cas-ual fridays stamps | handmade card | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | smile | die cut

I love this stamp!    So many possibilities with this one!   I wanted to use my favorite rainbow Deco Foil paper to really show it off, so I stamped the image down the side of a 4 x 5.25 piece of black cardstock with Versamark, sprinkled on sticky embossing powder and heat embossed it to activate the glue.    I burnished the foil down onto the sticky image and when I lifted it up....voila!   Isn't it stunning!   I love anything in rainbow colors, lol!    I die cut the 'Smile' die from my panel, being sure to save the inner pieces from the 'l' and 'e'.  I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment, from Pretty Posies with white embossing powder and then mounted the panel onto a white card base.   I carefully replaced those tiny inner bits of the letters, and that's it!   A super simple card with a TON of impact!

So which stamps and dies are your favorites from the release?  I'd love to hear!   Everything Michele and the rest of the DT has shown this week will be available at 12 a.m. EST Saturday!    Be sure to use my special code, KIMBERLY16, to save 15% off when you shop!

Take care and have a FABULOUS weekend, friends!

CAS-ual Fridays Release Day 4

Okay, remember yesterday when I said if you liked the 'Thanks' stamp set you'd love what we have for you today?    Well here you have it!    Meet the 'Bravo' stamp set!    More of that awesome marquee font....these are so much fun to play with, I couldn't stop at one card, so I have two for you today!  (Also, be sure to stop by the CAS-ual Fridays blog for a TON of inspiration from the whole DT!)
high five | glitter embossing | celebrate | handmade card | cas-ual fridays stamps | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com
First up is this fun card using the super cute High 5 image!   I began by stamping the image onto a piece of black cardstock with Versamark and coating it with sticky embossing powder.   Once it was heated up, I added some Glitter Ritz glitter being sure to burnish it firmly.   I was able to color the glitter with a Copic marker to get the fun aqua color you see!   I thought it would be fun to 'elevate' the high word (get it?   make it high?   - sorry, bad joke!)  so I stamped it again and heat embossed it with aqua EP.   I cut it out and added it on top of the original image with foam tape.   I stamped and heat embossed the remainder of the sentiment with white EP.   I die cut the image and set it aside to work on the background!
high five | glitter embossing | celebrate | handmade card | cas-ual fridays stamps | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com
The background is the word Hooray stamped repeatedly.   Once I had it finished, I felt it detracted too much from the focal part of my card, so I layered vellum over top of it to soften it up.   I love  how this turned out!

I've got one more card  to share with you, this time using the Bravo Fri-Die!
bravo | handmade card | distress ink | cas-ual fridays stamps | pretty posies | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

Oh how I love the way this turned out!    And I discovered a neat little trick along the way!   I began by die cutting 'Bravo' from masking paper.  I set aside the word for another use, and used the negative as a stencil.  I blended several colors of distress ink for a gradient look.   When I was through, I decided I wanted to die cut the ink blended word after all, so to try to line it up properly (these are closed dies) when I sent it through my Vagabond, I left my masking stencil in place and dropped in the die so that it fit snugly within the stencil.   When I removed the die, the alignment wasn't quite perfect, so there were bits of masking paper stuck on my sentiment.   I peeled them off and I love the look of the white along the edges!

I added the My Friend sentiment from Mon Ami  and some of the Pretty Posies flowers & leaves (also inked with Distress ink and a blending tool) to the front of the card.   For a little added interest I used a white gel pen to doodle on the flowers and leaves a bit!

So there is just one more day left of CAS-ual Fridays reveal week - I hope you stop back tomorrow to see what else I've got for you !   See you soon!

CAS-ual Fridays Release Day 3

We are on day three of release week over at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!   Have you been loving what you've seen?   Today's stamp set is called Thanks, and we are also introducing the brand-y new Smiling Fri-Dies as well!   Be sure to stop by the CAS-ual Fridays blog for a TON of inspiration from the whole DT!

marquee lettering | handmade card | casual fridays stamps | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | viva decor | sparkle paper | watercolor
For my card, I used my Gansai Tambi watercolors to create a splotchy background.   I stamped the awesome marquee 'BIG' sentiment with black hybrid ink and then filled in the dots with Viva Decor Paper Pens.  I love the look of dimension they give!
marquee lettering | handmade card | casual fridays stamps | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | viva decor | sparkle paper | watercolor
I used the Smiling Fri-Dies to cut one 'Thanks' sentiment from gold glitter paper and 5 from black.   I stacked all the black sentiments for added dimension and then offset them with the gold.   I mounted the watercolor panel to a black card base and added a very thin strip of the gold sparkle paper as well.

Be sure to stop back tomorrow to see what else we've got up or sleeves!   If you liked today's stamp set, you'll LOVE the one we reveal tomorrow....

CAS-ual Fridays New Release - Day 2

You guys!   I absolutely LOOOOVE the stamp set we're showcasing today as part of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps release week.   This set is called Dream Then Do, and the inspirational sayings combined with the fonts are nothing short of amazing!!!

dream then do | cas-ual fridays stamps | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | inspirational quote | handmade card | ombre ink | pretty pink posh | hero arts

I knew immediately what I wanted to do with this stamp set.....I kept it pretty CAS by first stamping the sentiment in the center of my top folding white card base with black ink.   I then re-stamped the image several times, inking up with Hero Arts ombre ink pads in a variety of colors.   I was able to selectively cut out the colorful words and adhere them over top of the black sentiment with foam tape.   To jazz it up just a bit I added some sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and embossed several lines at the top and bottom of the card using my scoring board.

CAS-ual Fridays New Release - Day 1

Hi there!   I'm super excited because today marks the start of release week for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!   Today we are sharing projects made with the new set Pretty Posies and the coordinating dies.
Cas-ual fridays stamps | pretty posies | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | distress ink | gold embossing

So this card is kind of fun because it is essentially one layer!   I used a leaf and the largest of the Pretty Posies dies as a stencil by die cutting them from acetate.   I was able to use the negative this created as a stencil and sponged on Distress Inks (Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet for the flower, Twisted Citron & Mowed Lawn for the leaves).   It was super easy to see where I wanted to place everything since the acetate is clear!   After I was done with that, I heat embossed the line images over top with gold embossing powder and added the sentiment from Pretty Posies with gold EP as well.   To finish off the panel I wrapped some fine gold thread around the top of the card and then mounted it to a lavender card base.  This will be super easy to go through the mail....gotta love that kind of card!

Newton's Nook Designs April Release - Tag Sampler

Hello there!   Today we are sharing the second stamp set from Newton's Nook Designs for the month of April, "Tag Sampler".   This is going to make a lot of you very happy!    If you are a knitter, crocheter or sewer, you need this stamp set in your life!

baby shower | coordinated ensemble | tag | crochet | gift giving | handmade | newton's nook designs | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

I, unfortunately, am not a knitter, crocheter or sewer, lol!   My mom, however, can crochet, and was in the middle of making a baby blanket when this stamp set made it's way to me.   She was more than happy to let me photograph her blanket in return for a card and tag, lol!

baby shower | tag | crochet | gift giving | handmade | newton's nook designs | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

I love that this stamp set coordinates with the tag die from Tags Times Two!   I stamped the sentiment onto some pastel patterned paper with Versamark and heat embossed it in white.   I stamped (and heat embossed) the "crocheted" block onto some matching cardstock and fussy cut it out and adhered it to my tag with foam tape for some dimension.   The card uses a cute baby sticker I had in my stash and the sentiment, from Fanciful Florals, was heat embossed with silver EP.

baby shower card | handmade card | clear stamps | newton's nook designs | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

I had several cute stickers and I figured I might as well make two cards, one for my mom to give with the gift, and one to have on hand as part of my card stash!   This was all super simple to make, but is a nice, coordinated look for gift-giving!  Now I just need to figure out how to knit and/or crochet, lol!

Newton's Nook Designs April Release - Winston's Honeybees

It's time for a new release from Newton's Nook Designs!   Today the team is sharing projects made with the adorable new set, Winston's Honeybees!   This set is so sweet!

newton's nook designs | honeybee | bear | honeypot | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | handmade card | embossing

I created my background paper by stamping the bees and the trail with Versamark and heat embossing everything with clear EP.   I stamped Winston with his honeypot, colored him in with Copic markers and fussy cut him out.  I die cut a pierced oval frame from white cardstock  and used the interior piece to create the scene.

newton's nook designs | honeybee | bear | honeypot | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | handmade card | embossing

I added the sky and  blades of grass with Copics and stamped a bee flying in the sky.  Winston was adhered to the oval with foam adhesive.  I die cut another pierced oval frame from black cardstock and used just the outside piece this time to frame Winston's cute scene!  I added my sentiment to the inside of the card "bee-cuz" I couldn't "bear" to cover up those sweet embossed bees!

Honey Bee Stamps 1st Birthday Bash Blog Hop

Hi crafty friends!   Welcome to Honey Bee Stamps 1st birthday blog hop!   Thanks for joining us on our week long birthday celebration!   Today the designers are featuring the brand new stamp set "Happy Everything" with a sweet little kit put together by designer Lisa Cisneros.   We have lots planned for you this week and of course, lots of prizes!   Just leave a comment on the designers' blogs along the hop for your chance to win!

You should have arrived here from Angel's blog, but if not, click here to start at the beginning!

For my birthday card, I mounted the embossed aqua paper included in the kit to black cardstock.   Next I adhered some of the dotted acetate (flipped to the reverse side so I could use the paler pink dots) to half of the aqua panel.   I cut one of the included doilies in half and stamped 'Happy' from Happy Everything on the white side.   I added a strip of black cardstock between the acetate and doily.   Next, I stamped 'Everything' onto some acetate and heat embossed it with some Brutus Monroe silver EP.   I fussy cut around the word and then adhered it to the panel.
I inked one of the wooden hearts from the kit with some black ink and then dipped it in my Versamark ink pad and added some more of the silver EP and heat set it.  I love how the black shows through the embossing powder!

I hope you've enjoyed my card today!   Happy Birthday, Honey Bee Stamps!   Your next stop on the hop is Nicki's blog!   Don't forget to leave a comment before you go for a chance to win!

For You!

Hi there, everyone!   I'm popping in today with a card featuring the super sweet stamp set Wild About Zoo from Newton's Nook Designs!
elephant | birthday card | handmade card | newton's nook designs | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | bakers twine | balloons

I stamped one elephant, and to create a little friend for him, I did some mirror stamping (I stamped the image onto the back of another clear stamp and then carefully stamped down being sure to lift straight up to avoid smearing).   I added some balloons from Newton's Birthday Flutter and drew in the strings so they look as if they are tied to the elephant's trunk.   So cute!   The elephants were colored in with Copic markers.   A bit of Glossy Accents made the balloons nice and shiny!

I hope you've enjoyed my card today!   Have a great week!
